About Indian Institute of Technology Ropar

The Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar), established in 2008 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, is one of the country’s premier institutions of national importance. Renowned for its academic excellence, research-driven approach, and innovation ecosystem, IIT Ropar has rapidly advanced in national and international rankings.

It is ranked 12th among all engineering institutes in India (2025), according to the Indian Institutional Ranking Framework, and placed 22nd in NIRF Engineering Rankings (2024). Globally, it has been featured in the 801–1000 band in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings and listed in the QS Asia 351–400 bracket.The institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across engineering, sciences, and interdisciplinary domains, with a strong emphasis on cutting-edge research and global collaboration.

About iHub – AWaDH

The IIT Ropar Technology and Innovation Foundation (iHub – AWaDH) is a national deep-tech hub established under DST’s NM-ICPS Mission with an initial support of ₹110 Cr ($13.2M USD). Driving innovation at the intersection of Agritech, Water, and CPS, iHub – AWaDH has mobilized over ₹200 Cr (~$24M USD) through partnerships with Startup India, MeitY, HDFC Bank, Dassault Systèmes, and others.

It has incubated 150+ startups, facilitated ₹120 Cr+ (~$14.5M USD) in overall funding, and enabled 10,000+ startups through training and CPS labs. Recognized as the Most Promising Agritech Innovation Hub (2022 onwards by 08+ National agencies), iHub – AWaDH is shaping India’s deep-tech ecosystem through research, entrepreneurship, and impactful collaborations.
