Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) Workshop organized on April 22, 2025, at the Institute of Engineering & Technolo gy (IET), DAVV, Indore by iHub-AWaDH at IIT Ropar.The primary objective of this workshop was to familiarize students, researchers, and faculty members with the fundamentals and applications of Cyber-Physical Systems — a transformative field at the intersection of physical processes and computational systems. The response was remarkable, with more than 250 registrations and over 120 in-person attendees, including students from various technical backgrounds.
The event was inaugurated by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Rakesh Singhai, who emphasized the relevance of such workshops in enhancing students’ technical skills and preparing them for future innovations. The session was also attended by Dr. Vrinda Tokekar, Director of IET DAVV; Prof. Sanjiv Tokekar, Director of the School of Data Science and Forecasting; Dr. D. S. Verma, Senior Faculty, Mechanical Engineering Department; and Mr. Shantanu Waikar, Incharge CEO of DAVV Incubation Centre. Each of the dignitaries appreciated the role of iHub Awadh in facilitating academic-industry collaborations and nurturing young talent.
The technical sessions featured prominent experts including Dr. Gauri Nath Banda, Dr. Vibhor Pandhare, and Dr. Rishi Kumar from IIT Indore, along with Mr. Vijay Soni, founder of V-Karve and one of our own incubatees at the DAVV Incubation Centre. Their sessions provided deep insights into embedded systems, automation, real-time control systems, IoT-based smart applications, and the broader landscape of CPS innovations.
A key highlight of the workshop was the hands-on session conducted by Mr. Vijay Soni. In this interactive segment, students were provided with customized CPS development kits, using which they successfully built various functional devices and working models. This practical exposure greatly enhanced their learning and offered them an opportunity to directly apply theoretical knowledge to real-world systems. Mr. Soni’s session received highly positive feedback for its clarity, engagement, and innovation-driven approach.
