The Energy Mentors – IIT Ropar Internship Program, a collaborative effort between IIT Ropar, Energy Mentors, USA, and IIT Ropar-TIF-AWADH, successfully concluded its latest edition from May 21st to July 24th, 2023. This program brought together undergraduate and postgraduate students from India, South Asia, and Africa, providing them with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and enhance their skills in the field of energy systems.

Participants were selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants and were organized into five-member teams. Throughout the duration of the internship, these teams worked on developing digital twins of Hybrid Energy Systems. This innovative project aimed to simulate real-world energy systems, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical context, fostering both learning and innovation.

The program’s curriculum was designed to be comprehensive, covering various aspects of energy systems, including design, simulation, and optimization. Mentors from both IIT Ropar and Energy Mentors, USA, guided the students, providing them with valuable insights and feedback. The participants engaged in interactive sessions, workshops, and project discussions, which not only enhanced their technical skills but also promoted teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
